FRESNO – Two Fresno companies are alleged to have terminated a dispatcher over his complaints of past-due wages.

California Labor Commissioner Julie Su, on behalf of the people of the state of California, filed a complaint on Aug. 24 in the Fresno County Superior Court against AM2 Logistic Inc., BKSG Transportation LLC, Karnvir Singh, Mawinder Kaur Bains and Does 1 through 20 alleging violation of labor codes.

According to the complaint, Su is filing on behalf of the state and complainant M.M. The suit states the defendants hired M.M. as a dispatcher in May 2015 and promised M.M. $5,000 per month in pay. M.M. alleges the defendants regularly failed to pay him for his work and that as of April 2017, he was owed more than $15,000 in past-due wages.

The suit states that M.M. was terminated after complaining he was owed wages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for lost wages, civil penalties, exemplary and punitive damages, costs of suit, attorney's fees, and for any such other relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Theresa Bichsel of State of California Department of Industrial Relations Division of Labor Standards Enforcement in San Francisco.
