Individual alleges Freightquote.com unlawfully contacted him for solicitation purposes

LOS ANGELES – A Winnetka consumer alleges an online transportation broker of freight services unlawfully called him for solicitation purposes.

Terry Fabricant, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on Sept. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Freightquote.com Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging violation the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in April, the defendant contacted his cellular telephone attempting to solicit him to purchase its services without his consent.

The plaintiff holds Freightquote.com Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly placed calls using an automatic telephone dialing system and/or an artificial or prerecorded voice without the plaintiff's prior express consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $500 for each and every negligent violation and treble damages of $1,500 for each and every willful violation of the Act, and all other relief that the court deems just and proper.
