FRESNO — A shopper is suing Vallarta Food Enterprises grocery store, claiming she slipped and fell on a wet floor while in the meat department.

Celia Ramirez filed a complaint on Sept. 10, in the Fresno County Superior Court, against Vallarta Food Enterprises, alleging that the defendant failed to keep the store safe for customers.

Celia Ramirez claims that on Sept. 17, 2016, she entered the store and headed straight to the meat department, where she allegedly fell because of a slippery substance on the floor.

She allegedly landed on her buttocks and both hands, injuring herself.

The plaintiff holds Vallarta Food Enterprises responsible, because the defendant allegedly failed to post any warning or correct the problem.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for compensatory damages in excess of $25,000, plus costs of suit, and for such relief as is fair, just and equitable.

She is represented by Edward C. Valdez of the Law Offices of Valdez & Valdez in Fresno.
