San Mar Properties accused of wrongful termination

Lawsuits
Wrongful term 01

FRESNO – A property management company is alleged to have wrongfully terminated a resident manager.

Sandra Gonzalez, an individual on behalf of herself and other current and former employees similarly situated, filed a complaint on Sept. 10 in the Fresno County Superior Court against San Mar Properties Inc. and Does 1 through 20 alleging retaliatory termination and other counts.

According to the complaint, on June 6, 2017, the plaintiff's attorney sent a Private Attorney General Act request to the defendant for the plaintiff's personnel file and payroll records. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to respond to her requests within 30 days and shortly after terminated her employment on July 10, 2017.

The plaintiff also alleges that her complaints regarding sexual harassment also were a factor in her termination.

The plaintiff holds San Mar Properties Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly wrongfully terminated her.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for actual, compensatory, incidental, consequential and punitive damages; civil penalties; attorneys' fees; costs; and for such other relief the court deems proper. She is represented by George J. Vasquez in Fresno.
