Wildwood Express alleges former employee issued more than $200,000 in false payments

FRESNO – A Fresno County trucking company alleges a former employee wrote checks to her creditors and disguised the entries as vendor payments.

Wildwood Express Inc. filed a complaint on Oct. 2 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Nadeeka Dedigama, also known as Nadeeka Bennett, and Does 1 through 50 alleging intentional misrepresentation, concealment and conversion.

According to the complaint, the defendant was hired by the plaintiff in April 2015 as an account manager. The suit states the plaintiff's president discovered in July that the defendant had issued numerous false payments to her credit card companies, creditors and divorce attorneys from the company's finances. She was terminated Aug. 10.

The plaintiff alleges it was harmed with a net loss of $225,636.91.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages of $225,636.91 in addition to interest per statute, attorneys' fees, costs of suit incurred, and for such other and further relief as is fair or just as equitable and the court deems just and proper. It is represented by Erick V. Grijalva of Parker, Kern, Nard & Wenzel in Fresno.
