SAN FRANCISCO – A software development platform is alleged to have terminated an attorney over her complaints of unequal pay.

Agnes Pak filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the San Francisco Superior Court against GitHub Inc. and Does 1-25 over alleged violation of the Equal Pay Act.

According to the complaint, in June 2017, Pak was hired by the defendant as a full-time contract attorney. She alleges she was not paid equally and complained of the issue. The suit states she was terminated April 24 because of her complaints.

The plaintiff holds GitHub, Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly retaliated against her because of her lawful complaint.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for equal wages in the amount of more than $20 million, plus attorney's fees, interest at the rate of 10 percent per month, back wages, benefits, reinstatement and for such further relief as the court considers proper. She is represented by Adron G. Beene and Adron W. Beene in San Jose.
