Pedestrian seeks damages from Del Norte Clinic, individual over alleged injuries

OROVILLE – A Chico man alleges he was injured while crossing a street in the city when a driver struck him.

Edward Mathis filed a complaint on Oct. 3 in the Butte Superior Court against Richard Leon, Del Norte Clinic and Does 1 through 20 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 12, 2016, while Mathis was crossing on or near Springfield Drive at or near Auburn Oak Drive in Chico, he was struck by defendants' vehicle. As a result, Mathis alleges he was injured in his health and activity.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants negligently owned, operated, entrusted, supervised and maintained their motor vehicle.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for general damages, medical, hospital, and related expenses; costs of suit incurred; and such other and further relief as the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Yosi Yahoudai, Jason B. Javaheri and John V. Bell of Javaheri & Yahoudai in Los Angeles.
