Jacqueline Burks filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Sutter Health, Sutter Bay Hospitals, et al. alleging medical malpractice.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on July 17, she presented to the defendants' hospital emergency room regarding a surgical drainage tube malfunction. She alleges the defendants were negligent in the examination, evaluation, monitoring, diagnosis, care and treatment of her condition, resulting in sepsis and other injuries.

The plaintiff holds Sutter Health, Sutter Bay Hospitals, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly carelessly and negligently managed her care.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendants for general and special damages, costs of suit, interest, and other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Blake P. Bostwick of Bostwick & Peterson LLP in Mill Valley.
