Tenants file suit against 24th & Hoffman Investors, others over care of property

SAN FRANCISCO – Tenants of a San Francisco property allege the owner of the property has permitted substandard conditions in violation of regulations.

Karen Lee and Aya Osada filed a complaint on Nov. 8 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against 24th & Hoffman Investors LLC, 366 Development LLC, et al. alleging negligence, breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs are tenants of a 24th Street, San Francisco property owned by 24th & Hoffman Investors LLC and have resided there since 2010.

The plaintiffs allege since 24th & Hoffman Investors LLC purchased the property in December 2017, they have experienced frequent utility interruptions, collection of trash in common areas, pest and vermin infestations and other issues.

The plaintiffs hold 24th & Hoffman Investors LLC, 366 Development LLC, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly caused and permitted substandard conditions at the property in violation of applicable codes.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek have suffered actual, compensatory, statutory and treble damages; attorney's fees; punitive damages; injunctive relief; interest; and further relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Tyler Rougeau of Tenderloin Housing Clinic Inc. in San Francisco.
