OROVILLE – A woman alleges a fall at a Butte County fast food restaurant caused a broken pelvis and other injuries.

Marilyn Riley filed a complaint on Nov. 21 in the Butte Superior Court against Burger King Corp.; Nor Cal Fast Foods Inc.; Mohammad Aslam Khan and Sarwaree Khan., trustees of the Khan Family 2011 Trust; Does 1 through 10 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 17, Riley was at defendants' fast food restaurant in Paradise when she slipped on a substance on the tile floor and fell. She alleges she shattered her left femur and required surgery, sustained a broken pelvis and other injuries.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to maintain the floor of the Burger King in a reasonably safe condition and failed to warn of the danger presented by the presence of the slippery substance on the floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for compensatory, general and special damages; interest; costs of action; and any other relief that the court considers proper. She is represented by James R. Dickinson in Chico.
