Lawsuits

FRESNO – A Mendota company is alleged to have terminated an employee because of her disabilities.

Norma Mendoza filed a complaint on Nov. 30 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Stamoules Produce Co., also known as S. Stamoules Inc. and doing business as Stamoules Produce Co., and Does 1-100 alleging discrimination.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff began her employment with the defendant in 1994. She alleges on Jan. 9, 2017, she was wrongfully terminated from her employment with defendant because of her fibromyalgia and irritable bowel syndrome disabilities and because she complained of discrimination.

The plaintiff holds Stamoules Produce Co. and Does 1-100 responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected plaintiff to differential treatment and terminated from her employment because of an actual disability and/or perceived disability.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for special and general damages, prejudgment interest, attorney fees, preliminary and permanent injunctive relief, and such other and further relief as the court may deem proper. She is represented by Larry H. Shapazian of Tomassian, Pimentel & Shapazian in Fresno.
