FRESNO – A Fresno County woman is seeking damages from the owner of a dog and the owner of the property where the dog resided after the canine allegedly attacked her.

Beverly Barrett filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Apninder Singh, Anna Reyes, and Does 1-10 alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 24, 2018, Barrett was heading home for her morning walk around the neighborhood and when Reyes' dog "aggressively charged and viciously attacked" her with no provocation or warning.

She alleges the dog knocked her to the ground and it latched on to her forearm, causing several severe injuries.

The plaintiff holds Singh, Reyes, and Does 1-10 responsible because Reyes allegedly failed to keep the dog confined within the premises or restrained by a leash or lead, allowing the dog to escape and Singh allegedly owned the property where the dog resided and failed to remove it from the premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for general and special damages, costs of suit, and for such other and further relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Jason A. Helsel and Mark A. Vogt of Fowler | Helsel | Vogt in Fresno.
