LOCKE LORD LLP: Locke Lord Strengthens West Coast Public Finance Capabilities With Addition of Attorney Juan Redín in Los Angeles

Locke Lord LLP issued the following announcement on Jan. 8.

Juan Redín has joined Locke Lord’s Los Angeles office as Senior Counsel in the Firm’s premier, nationally recognized Public Finance Practice Group. Redín, who joins the Firm from Norton Rose Fulbright, has extensive experience advising clients as bond, issuer’s, bank and disclosure counsel in various public finance transactions.

Redín has handled numerous tax-exempt bond transactions, including traditional general obligation bonds, conduit 501(c)(3) financings, revenue bonds, tax and revenue anticipation ‎notes and certificates of participation.‎ He has served as special counsel to domestic and foreign banks providing liquidity and credit ‎support for municipal and nonprofit financings. He also has substantial experience with 501(c)(3) organizations, including their formation and the exempt application process with the Internal Revenue Service.‎

Locke Lord has more than 125 years of involvement in the law of public borrowing and the federal tax and securities aspects of public debt obligations. The Firm’s public finance clients include virtually every type of issuer in the municipal bond market, ranging from states, cities and towns, and numerous other governmental entities and conduit issuers and borrowers, including educational and health care institutions.

A frequent author on the topic of municipal borrowing in California, Redín is also a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, Alumni Association and as Treasurer of the Mexican American Bar Association.
