Lawsuits
Car accident 37

OROVILLE – A Butte County woman alleges she was injured in a collision in the county caused by a driver who disobeyed a red traffic signal.

Lisa Lopez filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the Butte Superior Court against Kyle James Ewen and Does 1 through 10 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 27, 2017, Lopez was driving southbound on Highway 99 exiting the Skyway ramp in Butte County when her vehicle was struck by defendant Ewen's vehicle as he entered the intersection against a red light. The plaintiff alleges that as a result of the collision, she was injured and sustained economic and noneconomic damages.

The plaintiff holds Ewen responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently entrusted, managed, maintained, drove and/or operated the vehicle so as to cause a collision.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for noneconomic damages, medical and incidental expenses, loss of earnings, costs of suit and such other and further relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Christopher W. Wood and Kelsey J. Fischer of Dreyer Babich Buccola Wood Campora LLC in Sacramento.
