OROVILLE – A couple is seeking damages from a Butte County medical facility over allegations the husband sustained a burn to his leg.
Daniel L. Taylor and Nancy R. Taylor filed a complaint on Jan. 9 in the Butte Superior Court against Enloe Medical Center; Enloe Medical Imaging; Douglas M. Hughes, M.D.; and Does 1 through 100 alleging medical negligence.
According to the complaint, on Jan. 23, 2018, Daniel L. Taylor presented to defendants for a surgery when he sustained a severe burn to his lower leg, causing him to need repeated debridements of the wound.
As a direct proximate result, the plaintiff alleges he has been injured in his health and strength and Nancy R. Taylor alleges she has been deprived of the comfort, society and consortium of her husband.
The plaintiffs hold Enloe Medical Center, Enloe Medical Imaging, Hughes and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to prescribe and/or monitor proper medication and/or treatment and advised, examined, made and/or failed to make disclosure of relevant information about the surgery.
The plaintiffs seek judgment for general damages, expenses, interest, costs of suit and for such other and further relief as may be proper. They are represented by Daniel E. Wilcoxen and Martha A. Taylor of Wilcoxen Callaham LLP in Sacramento.
