Drinker Biddle issued the following announcement on Jan. 22.

National law firm Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP is bolstering its litigation capabilities with the addition of partner Paul J. Riehle to its Litigation Group. He will be based in the San Francisco office.

Mr. Riehle is an experienced litigator who has handled antitrust, RICO, and other complex litigation for more than 30 years, and has extensive experience opposing certification of classes brought by businesses and consumers. He also provides antitrust advice and counseling on pricing matters, regarding mergers and acquisitions, and for trade and standard setting organizations.

“Paul’s significant antitrust and class action experience and history of working closely with our attorneys make him an excellent addition to the firm,” said Andrew C. Kassner, chairman and CEO of Drinker Biddle. “He is well known in the California legal community and a leader in the antitrust bar, and his extensive experience in both complex state and federal court litigation will support our clients in national cases as well as regional disputes.”

Mr. Riehle has tried numerous cases to verdict in federal and state courts throughout the Bay Area and is well known for his leadership in the local legal community. He serves on the international board of directors and is a founding member of SurfAid International, a humanitarian relief organization.

“For more than 30 years, Paul has demonstrated his success as a litigator clients can count on,” said Daniel J. Collins, chair of Drinker Biddle’s Litigation Group. “The addition of Paul to our San Francisco office advances our strategic growth objectives in the West region and further strengthens the deep bench of talented attorneys in our national litigation practice.”

Mr. Riehle earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and was Editor-in-Chief of the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly. He received his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame, and was Student Body President.
