Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani has appointed Beatriz Berumen to Assistant Office Managing Partner of the firm’s Sacramento office. Berumen will work with Office Managing Partner Kathy Rhoads and others on the management team. Adhering to the firm’s culture of diversity and inclusion among its leadership, Berumen joins the ranks of office management nationwide. At present, half of the firm’s offices are led by a woman or diverse managing or assistant managing partner.

Beatriz Berumen is a member of the Employment Law practice group. Berumen defends employers in employment litigation, such as claims for wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and FMLA/CFRA violations. Berumen represents clients in federal and state court and before administrative agencies, including the EEOC, DFEH, DLSE, and the California Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. Berumen has also defended clients in private arbitrations, mediations and conciliations. In addition to her litigation practice, Berumen has extensive experience advising employers on personnel matters, addressing questions pertaining to privacy rights, leaves of absence, requests for accommodations, severance agreements and other workplace issues. She has presented at various seminars on employment-related topics. Berumen is fluent in Spanish.
