Morgan Lewis issued the following announcement on Feb. 12.
Nathan, the former assistant attorney general of the US Department of Justice’s Tax Division and former assistant United States attorney in Los Angeles, is deputy chair of the firm’s white collar litigation and government investigations practice. He handles complex civil and criminal litigation, with a focus on white collar criminal defense, tax controversy, securities, and environmental matters. Nathan represents individuals and organizations involved as targets, subjects, witnesses, and victims in state and federal criminal and civil investigations, grand jury and pretrial proceedings, and trials. He also conducts internal investigations and handles arbitrations.
In addition to his service to the Los Angeles Jewish Federation, Nathan has dedicated time to the American Jewish University, Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles, American Wheelchair Mission, American Technion Society, and Cedar Sinai Medical Center. Nathan is a former commissioner and president of the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission.
The Bruce I. Hochman Maimonides Torch of Justice Award will be presented to Nathan and his brother, David Hochman, who is also a lawyer, in Los Angeles on June 4 at the federation’s 70th Annual Legal Division Dinner.
