SAN FRANCISCO – A pedestrian alleges she was injured while walking on a San Francisco sidewalk because of a metal object left in the area by an engineering firm while repairing the sidewalk.

Shiu Tsang filed a complaint on Feb. 11 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against the city and county of San Francisco, Mitchell Engineering and Does 1 to 50 alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 9, 2018, she was walking on the sidewalk on Grant Street in San Francisco and tripped and fell over a metal object that was left in the area. The suit states Mitchell Engineering, which had been contracted by the city and county of San Francisco to repair and resurface the sidewalk, allegedly left some metal objects protruding from the sidewalk.

The plaintiff holds the city and county of San Francisco, Mitchell Engineering and Does 1 to 50 responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently owned, maintained, managed and operated the sidewalk.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for compensatory damages, costs of suit, and for such relief as is fair, just and equitable. She is represented by S. Alex Liao of Law Offices of S. Alex Liao in San Jose.
