Dykema Gossett issued the following announcement on April 2.
Dykema, a leading national law firm, announced the addition of Thomas H. Hutchinson to its Litigation Department as a senior counsel in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Hutchinson, who previously practiced with Dykema, rejoins the firm from Veatch Carlson, LLP.
Hutchinson has 30 years of experience representing product manufacturers and distributors, as well as local businesses and individuals, in a variety of actions. He has represented clients through insurance defense litigation, defense of Lemon Law claims against vehicle manufacturers, and prosecuting cases for vehicle financing and leasing companies as well as product liability and negligence defense on behalf of automobile manufacturers and dealerships.
Hutchinson has more than 15 years of experience focused solely on the issues and problems involved with complex asbestos litigation, both regionally and nationally. He spent more than a decade serving in a consulting/advisory role as coordinating counsel on national asbestos litigation discovery issues for an OEM. In that role he was initially responsible for handling hundreds of regional cases throughout California in preparation for trial, trial proceedings, and appellate practice before eventually serving as coordinating national counsel assisting in the development of litigation strategy, responding to and defending corporate discovery, and shaping settlement philosophy.
“We’re so glad to welcome Thomas back,” said Jeff Huron, Managing Member of Dykema’s Los Angeles office. “His extensive experience defending clients through insurance litigation and in the automotive industry enhances our bench strength in Los Angeles and will be very helpful for the firm’s clients.”
Hutchinson received his J.D. from Loyola Law School - Los Angeles and a B.A. in History, magna cum laude, from California State University Dominguez Hills.
