Baker McKenzie has been shortlisted for the inaugural Chambers USA D&I awards in the "Outstanding Firm for Furthering Diversity and Inclusion" category. According to Chambers, this award is for a firm that has shown "an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession."

The Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards shine the spotlight on champions for change, trailblazers and outstanding allies who are furthering the advancement of equality in the legal profession and uses comprehensive criteria to evaluate this award, including:
Breadth: the degree to which the initiative spanned different jurisdictions, practice areas, strands of diversity and career progression
Commitment: the degree to which the initiative went beyond normal practice and work remit / the percentage of individuals at the firm who were involved
Impact: the degree to which individuals, the firm and/or the community at large is positively affected
Advancement: the degree to which the work advanced diversity and inclusion
Originality: the degree to which the work involved innovative programs and structures or tackled issues that had not previously been foremost in the firm/individuals remit
