Bill Gausewitz of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will speak at the Association of California Life & Health Insurance Companies’ (ACLHIC) 41st Annual Round Table Oct. 10th in San Diego.
Hosted by ACLHIC, the 3-day conference focuses on issues affecting the life and health insurance companies operating in California. Speakers include members of the California Legislature, California legislative staff, insurance attorneys, inside counsel, and lobbyists of ACLHIC member companies.
Gausewitz will participate as a panelist in a session titled, “Privacy – California Consumer Protection Act.” Panelists will discuss the California Privacy Act, effective Jan. 1, 2020, and how companies can begin to prepare for compliance once the regulations are released.
Gausewitz, a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Sacramento office and member of the firm’s Insurance Regulatory & Transactions and Government Law & Policy practices, represents clients with legislative, administrative, and regulatory issues. He has specific experience drafting legislation concerning the insurance and title insurance industries. Gausewitz has deep experience regarding insurance legislation and regulation in both the California state government and in private practice. His firsthand knowledge of the law and regulatory processes, gained from participating in the rewriting of the California regulations on title insurance and drafting multiple insurance regulations, gives him keen insight, which he puts to use to help clients seek necessary approvals from the Department of Insurance in all aspects of title insurance regulation.
