Troutman Pepper Hamilton LLP issued the following announcement on Aug. 5.
Louise McCabe, a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Insurance and Reinsurance Practice Group, has been recognized by Legal Aid at Work with a 2020 Meritorious Service Award. The award honors board members who have “consistently and meaningfully contributed his or her time and energies to advancing Legal Aid at Work over a period of years.” Honorees were selected based on their many “contributions necessary to the success of the organization.”
Legal Aid at Work is a nonprofit legal services organization that has been serving low-income working families across California for more than 100 years. The organization works to strengthen workers’ rights through free clinics and helplines, free legal information, class actions, and advocating for new policies and laws.
McCabe joined Legal Aid at Work’s Board of Directors in 2009. During her 11-year tenure she has helped shape development efforts and served on various committees to support fundraising efforts, including the organization’s annual luncheon and annual dinner development committees.
“Legal Aid at Work does important work in the community to make legal representation available to the most vulnerable members of our society who suffer from discrimination and harassment and who would otherwise not have access legal representation or a voice to effect change,” McCabe said. “I am honored by this recognition and proud to stand alongside Legal Aid at Work as they seek justice for low-wage workers and their communities.”
McCabe is an experienced litigator who handles matters at both the trial and appellate court levels involving insurance coverage, accounting and legal malpractice, broker liability, directors’ and officers’ liability and commercial litigation. Her clients include banks, insurance companies, retailers, accounting firms, energy companies, manufacturers, foreign governments, oil companies, real estate brokers and developers.
Legal Aid at Work’s 2020 Meritorious Service Award winners were recognized on July 30, 2020, in a virtual celebration.
