MORGA LEWIS AND BOCKIUS LLP: Morgan Lewis Earns Wilef’s US Gold Standard Certification for 7th Consecutive Year

Morgan, Lewis and Bockius LLP issued the following announcement on July 14.

“We are deeply committed to cultivating an inclusive environment where all can be the best versions of themselves,” Firm Chair Jami McKeon said. “We view each year as an opportunity to move the needle forward on diversity and equity in our profession; and Morgan Lewis remains dedicated to being a leader and an agent of change within the legal community.”

In order to earn WILEF’s Gold Standard status, law firms must satisfy the following: 25% of equity partners are women, or, alternatively, 40% of the lawyers becoming equity partners within the last year are female; and 10% of equity partners are women of color or 4% of women equity partners are LGBT.

Morgan Lewis is one of only nine US law firms that meets the standards, as well as exceeding the following criteria:

  • 20% of the firm and US branch office heads are women.
  • 25% of the firm’s primary governance committee are women.
  • 25% of the firm’s compensation committee or its equivalent are women.
  • 20% of the top half of the firm’s equity partners in terms of compensation are women.
