Locke Lord LLP issued the following announcement on Sept. 13.
Locke Lord has achieved Mansfield Certification Plus status for 2021 from Diversity Lab, recognizing the Firm for reaching targets designed to boost the representation of diverse lawyers considered for a variety of roles and opportunities within the Firm.
Mansfield Rule Certification measures whether law firms proactively consider at least 30 percent women, lawyers of color, LGBTQ+ lawyers and lawyers with disabilities for recruitment, governance roles, senior-level lateral hiring, equity partner promotions and inclusion in formal pitch presentations to clients. “Plus” status indicates that, in addition to meeting or exceeding the baseline certification requirements, Locke Lord has successfully reached at least 30 percent diverse lawyer representation in a notable number of current leadership roles.
“This achievement highlights Locke Lord’s steadfast commitment to diversity and inclusion, which is one of the Firm’s five core values,” said Locke Lord Chair David Taylor. “We are incredibly proud to have earned Mansfield Certification Plus status for 2021, and we will continue to remain diligent in our efforts to foster a diverse and inclusive culture.”
Locke Lord is currently participating in the Mansfield Rule 5.0 Certification process, aimed to conclude by July 2022. Similar to prior years, this iteration of the Mansfield Rule includes new challenges to continuously push the boundaries necessary to boost diversity in law firm leadership.
“Our strong performance surrounding the Mansfield Rule Certification process reflects the hard work and dedication this Firm puts forth to not only achieve this impressive result but actively demonstrate on a daily basis an unwavering commitment to moving the needle on diversity and inclusion within Locke Lord and throughout our profession,” added Senior Partner and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Paulette Brown.
