When Arizona State University students Edward Moore and Patrick Freking were approached by fraternity brother Kim Curtis one decade ago, they were presented with a challenge to expand a business by nearly 3,000 miles and across multiple nations and bodies of water.
According to a report by the PHX Reporter, in what was posed as a problem with an outsourcing business offering chat support in India, Peak Outsourcing was born as Moore and Freking strengthened the business by placing roots in the Philippines.
After talking to Curtis, Moore and Freking traveled to Manila to find out just what it would take to get a business off the ground in Southeast Asia.
The duo opened the doors of Peak Outsourcing’s first office in mid-August of 2011 with only five agents, the PHX Reporter states. At that time, the company’s first clients became Moore and Freking’s first business partners, Curtis and his partner Joe Devine, whose U.S. business had been using an Indian outsourcing company for chat support.
Now, Peak boasts two office locations in the Philippines, one located in Metro Manila and the other strategically located in another region of the country.
Peak Outsourcing hopes to have the Belize City office completed by the end of January 2022.
"Numerous clients ask us for nearshore (a term used for outsourcing services closer to the USA borders, such as Mexico, Guatemala, or Belize). Since Belize is a considered nearshore to the USA and the population comprises mostly English speaking people, it was chosen over many other Central and South American countries as the place Peak would further expand its footprint," the Peak Outsourcing Business Plan stated.
