SAN FRANCISCO - A woman is suing Lyft for an alleged attack her son suffered while a passenger.

John Doe LSA 213, a minor, filed a lawsuit through his mother on Jan. 21 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Lyft, Inc. and Does 1-50 for general negligence, negligent hiring, retention and supervision, common carrier negligence and other claims.

According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 11, 2020, he was at a friend's birthday party when the mother of the friend ordered a Lyft to take him home. While a passenger, the minor child was shown photos on the driver's phone that included nude photography and the driver told the minor child about his own sexual proclivities, the suit says.

The driver also offered to perform oral sex, exposed himself and forcibly touched the minor child without consent, the suit says.

The minor child was caused to suffer humiliation, being degraded, violated, emotional distress and robbed of his dignity and personal safety, the suit says.

Plaintiffs seek general damages, special damages, exemplary and punitive damages, prejudgment interest and cost of suit. Plaintiffs are represented by William A. Levin of Levin, Simes, Abrams LLP.
