San Francisco sued for alleged sewage leak

SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco city and county have been sued for causing property damage after an unfixed sewage pipe allegedly leaks. 

Francesca Associated filed a lawsuit on Jan. 20 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against the City and County of San Francisco, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and Does 1-10 for negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Francesca Associated suffered significant property damage due to sewage and other substances from the leak that entered the lower 21 level of its condominium building, which housed a utility room, electrical closet and common area equipment such as electrical equipment and a boiler. 

The sewage in the lower level and damage to the common area equipment resulted in an emergency situation at the property with no operable electrical service to the condominium building including no heating and no elevator services, the suit says.

Francesca Associated seeks general damages, special damages, cost of suit and prejudgment interest. Francesca Associated 8is represented by Patrick J. Connolly of Utrecht and Lenvin, LLP.
