File000704919536

Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome employment attorney Timothy (Tim) Reed back to its San Francisco office as shareholder. Tim rejoins the firm from FordHarrison, where he was the office managing partner and co-founder of FordHarrison’s San Francisco Bay Area office.

Tim has been practicing law in California since 2008, and was previously a member of Ogletree Deakins’ San Francisco office from 2013 to 2016. He represents employers both in the courtroom and before administrative agencies with respect to a wide range of employment law claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, trade secrets, breach of contract, economic tort, and wage-and-hour matters. Tim also regularly conducts workplace investigations and provides employers with preventive counsel regarding personnel management and policy issues.

A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, Tim has a track record of participation in diversity initiatives within the legal community and beyond. He previously served as a member of FordHarrison’s Diversity Advisory Board and was selected as a 2019 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow. Tim also served as a mentor for the Leadership and the World (LAW) Academy at his alma mater–Florin High School in Sacramento, California–where he supported the LAW Academy’s mission to increase diversity in the legal profession. Tim is particularly interested in issues relating to neurodiversity and mental health as they relate to the workplace, and he regularly speaks and writes on these topics.

“Tim is a respected and accomplished member of the San Francisco legal community, and we are absolutely thrilled to bring him back to the Ogletree family,” said Greg Cheng, shareholder in Ogletree Deakins’ San Francisco office and member of the firm’s Board of Directors. “As the employment law landscape continues to evolve, Tim’s breadth of knowledge and experience, along with his zealous approach to client service and advocacy for equity in the legal profession, will have an immediate impact on our office, clients, and the firm at large.”

Tim is active in the legal community, and he has been recognized for his leadership and advocacy on behalf of clients. Tim is a member of the National Bar Association (NBA) and serves on the NBA’s Labor and Employment Executive Committee. In 2020, the NBA recognized Tim with its 40 Under 40 — Nation’s Best Advocates award. In 2021, Profiles in Diversity Journal profiled Tim as one of its “Black Leaders Worth Watching”. Tim has published a significant number of articles on emerging legislative and legal developments in acclaimed publications such as The Daily Recorder and HR Daily Advisor. He earned his law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and his undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco.
