Jones Day named among top 15 foreign firms in India by IBLJ

Jones Day has once again been recognized by India Business Law Journal ("IBLJ") as one of the top 15 foreign firms advising on legal matters in India. This is the 14th consecutive year that Jones Day has been featured in this annual list. The leading foreign firms report is based on IBLJ's analysis of more than 600 law firms that have recorded deals and disputes with an Indian component in the past 12 months.

In its report, IBLJ noted that the Firm is a trusted adviser on India-related transactions, disputes, and investigations, citing its strength in banking and finance, energy and projects, M&A, and private equity. In addition, IBLJ has again named Sushma Jobanputra, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Singapore Office, to its “International A-List” of top 100 India-focused lawyers from outside the country.

Jones Day has been actively serving the Indian market for more than 25 years. The Firm's India practice is coordinated from Singapore and includes more than 60 lawyers–many of whom were educated in India or have worked in prominent Indian law firms–with qualifications spanning more than a dozen jurisdictions. Jones Day’s One Firm Worldwide approach–in which all clients are Firm clients–means that each transaction is staffed with lawyers with the best experience from across the globe, particularly for outbound transactions for Indian clients. The Firm has represented domestic and international corporations, financial institutions, investors, multilateral development banks, and government entities on many notable transactions and investments in India and on India-related deals throughout the world.

IBLJ provides intelligence on legal developments and strategies to India-based and international businesses and law firms engaged in cross-border transactions.
