Reed Smith announced today that it ranked 4th overall among the top 200 U.S. firms in Good2bSocial’s 2022 Social Law Firm Index. This marks Reed Smith’s highest overall ranking in the survey, which commenced in 2014, and is the third consecutive year that the firm has placed in the top 10 overall.

The Good2bSocial 2022 Social Law Firm Index takes a deep dive into how the top 200 U.S. law firms – as identified by The American Lawyer 200 rankings of firms by gross revenue – are using digital marketing to connect with and engage the target audience each needs to drive business development success. To determine how each is leveraging its online assets, Good2bSocial analyzes and measures each firm's effectiveness and reach across all major social media platforms and content channels. Platforms and channels measured are LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, search engine optimization, podcasting and thought leadership.

“It’s so rewarding to be recognized among the best for our collective work on the firm’s digital and social presence,” said Sadie Baron, Reed Smith’s chief marketing officer. “Guided by our global marketing and business development team, our lawyers are helping to drive meaningful social outreach and engagement that brings us closer to our clients.”

While Reed Smith’s performance across each category exhibited a growing proficiency in using digital assets to deliver on content creation, distribution and engagement, the firm performed as a market leader in two categories in particular: thought leadership and podcasting. Reed Smith ranked fifth in both categories among all firms, and for the podcasting category the firm jumped 45 spots from #50 in 2021.

Reed Smith recently recorded its 300th podcast episode across its 11 dedicated podcast channels, providing insight and commentary on a wide range of topical legal issues and covering arbitration, crisis management, dealmaking, dispute resolution, energy, financial regulation, government procurement, restructuring and insolvency, shipping, and technology.
