Land O' Lakes and its snack producing affiliate brand, Kozy Shack, are facing a class action lawsuit for allegedly shorting worker pay and other violations of California labor law.

The lawsuit was initially filed in Stanislaus County Superior Court in December 2023 by plaintiff Sandra Becerra Arana on behalf of herself and others similarly situated. The case has since been moved to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California on Jan. 19.

The lawsuit accuses Land O' Lakes and Kozy Shack of failing to pay wages for all hours worked at minimum wage, not paying overtime wages for daily overtime worked, not authorizing or permitting meal periods, not timely paying all earned wages and final paychecks due at time of separation of employment, and unfair business practices.

The legal team representing the plaintiff includes attorneys Joseph Lavi, Vincent C. Granberry, Jovahn Wiggins, and Cassandra Castro, from Lavi & Ebrahimian LLP, of Beverly Hills.

The plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages, including allegedly unpaid wages, restitution and penalties.
