Alexander Sears-Robison has filed a wrongful death and medical malpractice complaint against Salud Clinic, Communicare Health Centers, Salud Clinic Pharmacy, IMGRX Salud, Inc., Dr. Daniel Trevizo, Dr. Jeremy Johnson, and other unnamed defendants. The complaint was filed on May 17, 2024, in the Superior Court of California for the County of Sacramento.

The lawsuit stems from the death of Shauna Robison on May 23, 2023. According to the plaintiff, Shauna Robison died due to negligent medical care she received at Salud Clinic. Alexander Sears-Robison alleges that Dr. Jeremy Johnson prescribed Methotrexate for psoriasis without proper monitoring or consideration of potential side effects. The prescription led to severe symptoms that necessitated emergency care. Despite being advised by Dr. Daniel Trevizo to seek emergency treatment, Shauna Robison's condition deteriorated rapidly after her admission to Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento.

The plaintiff claims that the defendants failed to exercise the standard of care expected in the medical community. "Defendants negligently and carelessly treated Plaintiff's Decedent," states the complaint, adding that this negligence was a substantial factor in causing Shauna Robison’s death.

The legal filing details how Alexander Sears-Robison provided notice of intent to sue on February 14, 2024, complying with California Code of Civil Procedure Section 364 and Federal Tort Claims Act requirements by presenting claims within one year of the incident.

The plaintiff is seeking various forms of relief from the court including general non-economic damages for loss of companionship and emotional support; pre-death pain and suffering damages as per Code of Civil Procedure section 377.34(b); economic damages; costs incurred during litigation; interest as allowed by law; and any further relief deemed just by the court.

Representing Alexander Sears-Robison are attorneys Daniel R. Del Rio and Charles D. Caraway from Del Rio & Caraway, P.C., based in Sacramento. The case has been assigned Case No.: 24-WOORDE-RA.
