A lawsuit has been filed against a Delaware-based limited liability company, alleging severe product liability and negligence. On June 10, 2024, Aditi Malhotra filed a complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, against Tatcha LLC.

According to the court documents, Malhotra claims that she suffered severe injuries after using two of Tatcha's products: "The Essence" and "The Water Cream." The plaintiff alleges that upon using these products on August 29, 2023, she experienced an immediate burning sensation on her face which led to substantial pain and injury. The complaint states that these products were improperly designed or manufactured and lacked adequate instructions or warnings about potential hazards. Malhotra contends that Tatcha LLC was aware or should have been aware of the dangerous features and characteristics of their products but failed to take necessary precautions.

Malhotra is seeking both special and general damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering, emotional distress, loss of earnings, and loss of earning capacity. She argues that the company's negligence in designing, manufacturing, supplying, and selling the defective products directly resulted in her injuries. The lawsuit demands a jury trial to address these grievances.

Representing Malhotra is attorney Sako Demirjian from Downtown L.A. Law Group. The case is being overseen by Judge Marivic D. Viray under Case ID CGC-24-645277.
