Greenberg Traurig, LLP Tax Practice Shareholders G. Michelle Ferreira and Barbara T. Kaplan will speak at the 2024 New England IRS Representation Conference Nov. 8.
Ferreira will moderate the “Enforcement Trends: What’s Hot and What’s Not” panel, discussing the ever-changing landscape of tax enforcement and how it relates to collection, criminal investigations, and examinations.
Kaplan will speak on a panel titled “High Net Worth Taxpayer Audits: The Tax Man Cometh.” This panel will cover issues surrounding IRS examinations of high-net-worth individuals and their businesses. Kaplan will discuss topics such as high-income non-filers and reasonable compensation, among others.
Ferreira is senior vice president of the firm and co-managing shareholder of the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices. Kaplan is chair of the New York Tax Practice and has been named one of the top 50 women lawyers in New York City by Super Lawyers magazine. Both Ferreira and Kaplan counsel individuals, partnerships, estates, trusts, and corporations in tax disputes with the IRS and state and local tax agencies, in tax litigation and in administrative and grand jury criminal tax investigations.
