A former employee has launched a class-action lawsuit against a prominent real estate company, alleging widespread labor violations. Anselmo Plancarte filed the complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, on January 24, 2025, targeting Prometheus Real Estate Group, Inc. The suit accuses the company of multiple infractions under California labor laws, including unpaid overtime and minimum wages.

Anselmo Plancarte, who worked as a Neighborhood Service Manager at Parker Palo Alto Apartments from February 2021 to January 2024, claims that Prometheus Real Estate Group failed to compensate him and other employees for all hours worked. He alleges that the company's timekeeping system prevented accurate recording of work hours due to geolocation restrictions. This led to off-the-clock work not being compensated. Plancarte also contends that employees were pressured to record only scheduled hours rather than actual hours worked. Furthermore, he claims that during "on-call" shifts, employees were required to be available without proper compensation for their standby time.

The lawsuit outlines several violations of the California Labor Code and Business & Professions Code. These include failure to provide meal and rest periods as mandated by law and issuing non-compliant wage statements. Plancarte argues that these practices resulted in unfair business advantages for Prometheus Real Estate Group over competitors who comply with labor laws.

Plancarte seeks damages exceeding $25,000 along with penalties and attorney fees. He is also pursuing class certification for others similarly affected by these alleged practices. The relief sought includes unpaid wages, statutory penalties for non-compliance with wage statement requirements, and injunctive relief to prevent further violations.

Representing Plancarte are attorneys Roxanna Tabatabaeepour, Ryan Tish, and Alexander Wallin from Capstone Law APC. The case is overseen by Judge J. Nguyen under Case No. 22CV497894.
