In a compelling legal battle, an individual has filed a lawsuit against a major retail corporation, accusing it of negligence leading to severe personal injuries. The complaint was lodged by Zoleka Boissiere in the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, on January 22, 2025, targeting Walgreens as the defendant.

The case revolves around allegations that Walgreens failed in its duty of care towards Boissiere, resulting in significant physical and emotional harm. According to the complaint, Boissiere contends that Walgreens, along with unnamed defendants referred to as DOES 1 through 50, neglected their responsibilities in maintaining safe premises at their store located at 825 Market Street in San Francisco. The plaintiff asserts that this negligence led to serious injuries sustained on January 24, 2023. The complaint details how the defendants allegedly failed to exercise reasonable care in managing and operating the store and in hiring and supervising employees. "Defendants knew or should have known with reasonable certainty that plaintiff would suffer monetary and emotional and physical damages," the document states.

Boissiere's lawsuit accuses Walgreens of breaching several duties of care, including ensuring the safety of their premises and adequately training their staff. The plaintiff argues that these breaches directly resulted in her injuries which include permanent bodily harm and severe mental distress. As a result of these alleged failures, Boissiere claims she suffered from serious health issues requiring extensive medical treatment and has endured ongoing pain and suffering.

The plaintiff is seeking various forms of relief from the court. This includes compensatory damages for her injuries, special damages covering medical expenses and lost earnings both past and future, as well as interest on these amounts as permitted by law. Additionally, Boissiere requests reimbursement for attorneys' fees and other litigation costs incurred during this process.

Representing Zoleka Boissiere is attorney R. Michael Lieberman from his law offices based in San Francisco. The case has been assigned Case ID CGC-25-621642 at the Superior Court of California in San Francisco County.
