In a gripping legal battle, a couple is seeking justice following a devastating car accident that left one of them with severe injuries. On March 24, 2025, Hossein Kajouee and Jill Kajouee filed a complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, against Carl Hoch and several unnamed defendants. The lawsuit alleges negligence on the part of the defendants that resulted in personal injury and loss of consortium.
The incident at the heart of this case occurred on December 17, 2024. According to the complaint, Hossein Kajouee was inside a building located at 749 Portola Drive in San Francisco when Carl Hoch allegedly drove his vehicle off the road, over the sidewalk, and into the building. This collision caused significant injuries to Hossein Kajouee, including multiple lacerations and fractures that required surgeries and prolonged hospitalization. The plaintiffs claim that certain injuries may be permanent and have led to ongoing medical treatment.
The lawsuit accuses Carl Hoch and other unnamed defendants—referred to as DOES ONE through TWENTY—of negligence in operating the vehicle. The complaint states that these individuals were acting within their capacity as agents or employees of each other during the incident. "Defendants negligently and carelessly drove, operated and controlled the above-described vehicle," reads one part of the complaint. As a result of this alleged negligence, Hossein Kajouee has incurred substantial medical expenses and has been unable to attend his regular employment.
Jill Kajouee also claims damages for loss of consortium due to her husband's injuries. She alleges that she has suffered from a loss of support, companionship, affection, and society as recognized under California law. The plaintiffs are seeking general damages exceeding $25,000 along with special damages according to proof. They are also requesting compensation for property damage, costs of suit, pre-judgment interest according to law, and any further relief deemed appropriate by the court.
Representing the plaintiffs is Douglas S. Saeltzer from Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger—a professional corporation based in San Francisco. The case has been assigned Case No. CGC-25-623619 in front of an undisclosed judge at this time.
