In a dramatic legal confrontation, a California resident has taken decisive action against her former employer, alleging a series of discriminatory practices that culminated in her wrongful termination. On April 18, 2025, Ma Christina Suarez filed a complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, against Addlife and unnamed defendants referred to as DOES 1 through 25. The case is charged with serious allegations including disability discrimination and retaliation under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and the California Family Rights Act (CFRA).

The complaint details a troubling narrative that began in July 2023 when Suarez was hired by Addlife. Her employment journey took a painful turn on February 7, 2024, when she suffered an ankle injury at work. Despite seeking immediate medical attention, Suarez was directed to consult the company's physician instead. This incident marked the beginning of what Suarez describes as a pattern of neglect and discrimination by Addlife. By March 26, 2024, despite providing updated medical restrictions due to her injury, Suarez claims that Addlife failed to accommodate her needs.

Suarez's plight worsened when she sustained a shoulder injury in June 2024 necessitating surgery and extended medical leave until December of that year. However, on October 31, while still on approved leave for her surgery recovery, she was abruptly terminated by Addlife. According to the lawsuit, this termination was retaliatory—a direct consequence of her disabilities and requests for accommodation.

Suarez accuses Addlife of multiple violations under FEHA: disability discrimination, failure to engage in an interactive process for accommodations, failure to provide reasonable accommodations themselves, retaliation for asserting her rights under FEHA and CFRA, and wrongful termination in violation of public policy. She asserts that these actions were not only discriminatory but also executed with malice or reckless disregard for her rights.

In seeking justice from the court, Suarez demands general damages for pain and suffering as well as compensation for past and future medical expenses incurred due to the alleged mistreatment. She also seeks lost wages and benefits along with punitive damages intended to penalize Addlife for their conduct. Furthermore, she requests reasonable attorney’s fees and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Representing Ma Christina Suarez are attorneys Kane Moon, Christopher Garcia, and Tamar Chobanian from Moon Law Group PC based in Los Angeles. The case is being reviewed under Case No.: 25CV463875 by Judge Y. Chavez at the Superior Court of California in Santa Clara County.
