Trademark

SAN FRANCISCO – A Los Angeles business is suing unknown defendants alleging that they knowingly distributed merchandise bearing registered trademarks.

Bravado International Group Merchandising Services Inc. filed suit Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against John Does 1-100, Jane Does 1-100 and XYZ Co., all fictitious names, citing alleged unfair competition and infringement of registered trademarks.

According to the complaint, Bravado International Group Merchandising Services Inc. is the authorized distributor of merchandise sold at concerts and retail stores of musical performing artists. Its merchandise bears the logo of the performing group, the complaint states, and the defendants allegedly sold infringing merchandise without consent of the group or the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks an order to seize and impound any and all infringing merchandise the defendants attempt to sell, deliver all infringing merchandise for destruction, attorney's fees and other relief the court deems just and proper. It is represented by Cara R. Burns of Hicks, Mims, Kaplan & Burns in Santa Monica.
