SAN FRANCISCO – A Playa Vista technology company is suing a Taiwanese company over claims of patent infringement.
Belkin International Inc. filed suit against Acrox Technologies Co. LTD on Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court Northern District of California, San Francisco Division, citing patent infringement.
According to the complaint, Belkin International Inc. acquired several patents for USB hubs and those products were sold in various locations in California. The suit states that the defendant imports and sells USB hub products that infringe on Belkin's patents. The plaintiff holds Acrox Technologies Co. LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly manufactured and sold said products under its own brand without authorization or consent from Belkin.
Belkin seeks compensation for all damages, permanent injunction prohibiting the defendant from marketing and selling any allegedly infringing products, any attorneys' fees and costs, post- and prejudgment interest and any other relief the court deems just and proper. It is represented by Richard L. Seabolt of Duane Morris LLP in San Francisco.
