OAKLAND – A Singapore technology company is suing a distributor of motherboards over allegations of patent infringement.

Kinglite Holdings Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Oakland Division against Elitegroup Computer Systems Co. LTD, and Elitegroup Computer systems Inc. USA, citing alleged patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it has suffered damages due to infringement of its products. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly imported, sold and distributed motherboards that are loaded with unified extensible firmware interface and basic input/output systems that infringe the plaintiff's patents '013 and '202.

The plaintiff seeks the following: prejudgment interest, to enjoin the defendant from allegedly further infringing patents of the plaintiff and award further relief as the court deems just and proper. It is represented by George C. Summerfield of Stadheim & Grear LTD in Chicago, Illinois.
