SAN FRANCISCO – Two demolition laborers are suing their former employers over allegations of unpaid wages.
Jesus Rosas and Guadalupe Ramos filed a complaint on March 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Symco Scotts Inc., Bayline Demolition Inc., Lisa A. Maisel, Scott A. Maisel and Pedro Cordova, citing unfair competition and violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they worked for more than 40 hours per week and were not properly compensated. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to record the hours worked by the plaintiffs and thus failed to pay accurate wages.
The plaintiffs seek the following: compensation for all damages, unpaid wages, interest rate of 10 percent, all legal fees, and any other relief as the court deems just and proper. They are represented by Tomas E. Margain and Huy Tran of Justice at Work Law Group in San Jose.
