SAN FRANCISCO – A Sonoma County couple has filed suit against the makers of Roundup alleging that it distributed herbicides that are dangerous to human health.
Elaine Stevick and Christopher Stevick filed a complaint on April 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Monsanto Co. citing strict liability, failure to warn, negligence, breach of implied warranties and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in 2014 Elaine Stevick was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma as a result of allegedly being exposed to Roundup in her garden. The plaintiffs hold Monsanto Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly falsely advertised the safety of Roundup products.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by Curtis G. Hoke of The Miller Firm LLC in Orange, Virginia.
