SAN FRANCISCO – A bride has filed a suit against a wedding photographer alleging that he used embarrassing contents taken at her wedding for his own publicity.

Jane Doe filed a complaint on May 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against George Street Photo & Video LLC and Does 1 through 10 citing invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false advertising and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in Oct. 11, 2013, a photographer of the defendant recorded a "highly embarrassing interaction" at her wedding reception between her and her purportedly inebriated husband and published it on YouTube without her consent. The suit states that the video went viral, has been viewed millions of times, and she has suffered humiliation, embarrassment and mental anguish.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, injunctive relief against the defendant, award of profits derived from defendant's unlawful conduct, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Henry M. Burgoyne III and George L.B. Gutierrez of Burgoyne Law Group in San Francisco.
