Man alleges he was negligently prescribed Amitriptyline

Medical malpractice 02

SACRAMENTO – A man alleges he was prescribed a drug without given warning of its side effects and was seriously injured.

Jonathan Bertoldo Sr. filed a complaint on Feb. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against the United States of America and Does 1 to 20 over allegations of medical negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, he suffered injuries as a result of taking harmful dosage of Amitriptyline as prescribed by his doctor at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Fresno. The plaintiff holds United States of America and Does 1 to 20 responsible because the defendants allegedly prescribed Amitriptyline to plaintiff when he was currently taking other medications that were specifically not to be taken with the drug. He alleges he was not warned of this or of the drug's serious side effects.

The plaintiff seeks all damages according to proof, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Vonn R. Christenson of Christenson Law Firm LLP in Porterville.
