SAN JOSE – A San Jose company is being accused by a Virginia business of patent infringement.
Straight Path IP Group Inc. filed a complaint on June 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose Division against Cisco Systems Inc. alleging it incorporates several infringing patents to its products.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages as a result of their patents being infringed by the defendant. The plaintiff holds Cisco Systems Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly manufactured and distributed products that infringes several patents owned by plaintiff regarding point-to-point network communication.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an award of damages plus interest, treble damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Marc A. Fenster, Jeffrey Z.Y. Liao and Neil A. Rubin of Russ, August & Kabat in Los Angeles.
