SACRAMENTO – A Modesto consumer alleges appliance maker concealed the defects of a dishwasher.

Jennifer Ollar filed a complaint on June 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Electrolux Home Products Inc. alleging violation of the Magnuson-Moss Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was misled into buying a defective Frigidaire dishwasher that caused damages to her house due to holes that were burned through the machine's washtub. The plaintiff holds Electrolux Home Products Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly took steps to conceal the defective nature of its dishwasher from consumers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by William A. Kershaw, Stuart C. Talley and Ian J. Barlow of Kershaw, Cook & Talley PC in Sacramento.
