Run Them Sweet alleges it was overcharged fees for patents

Law money 01

SAN FRANCISCO – A medical diagnostics company alleges it was overcharged for the fees required for registering its patents at foreign patent registrars. It has filed a class-action lawsuit.

Run Them Sweet LLC filed a complaint on behalf of those similarly situated on June 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against CPA Global Limited and CPA Global North America LLC alleging breach of contract, unjust enrichment and violation of the state's Unfair Competition Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages as a result of paying overcharged fees. The plaintiff holds CPA Global Limited and CPA Global North America LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly made false representations about the fees plaintiff needed to pay and made up certain charges and billed them to plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant; require the defendant to disgorge, restore, and return all benefit and monies wrongfully obtained; actual damages; all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Ethan J. Brown and Geoffrey A. Neri of Brown, Neri, Smith & Khan LLP in Los Angeles and Adam Gonnelli of Faruqi & Faruqi LLP in New York.
