Van-Oil Petroleum claims it is owed payment for bunkers

Law money 07

SAN FRANCISCO – A British Virgin Islands corporation is suing a vessel for allegedly not paying for fuel.

Van-Oil Petroleum LTD filed a complaint on June 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Maratha Promise alleging that the vessel failed to pay plaintiff for the bunkers it supplied.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct.10, 2014, it supplied bunkers to the defendant vessel. The plaintiff holds Maratha Promise responsible because the defendant allegedly did not pay plaintiff for the bunkers.

The plaintiff seeks requests that a warrant of arrest be issued, that the vessel may be seized and sold to pay for the demands and claims by plaintiff, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by Jennifer T. Sanchez of Gibson Robb & Lindh LLP in San Francisco.
